It was our first and last time. The waitress was extremely rude. She never once came back to our table after we placed our order. We had to ask another waitress for a drink refill and the check. Salsa was old. Mediocre food. Zero ambience. Very affordable, but like they say ' you get what you pay for'. It's a shame. The place has potential, but is poorly run.

Basic "glossy menu" Mexican joint. Extensive menu. Good food. Reasonably priced. Nice waitstaff and owner. Lots of regulars here. I will come back.

I was in the area and found this place thanks to Yelp. I was a bit hesitant as there are mixes reviews but then I noticed that the low rating were from a few years ago and the high ratings were posted most recently. El Paso is a small Mexican restaurant located in a small strip mall, it's clean with a few booths and tables, and very cute decor. I found service to be very friendly and quick. Excellent homemade chips and salsa, I had the chimichurri steak, it was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested, it was extremely flavorful and tender, I couldn't believe it was only $12! It came served with white rice, plantains and a delicious side of black beans. My family were also very happy with their food, servings were large, everything was cooked fresh and to prepared to order, we took plenty of left overs. Overall, I am very happy gave El Paso a try, it is obvious a local favorite as the restaurant was full and the staff was familiar with most of the clientele. I wish people who gave it low ratings a few years ago would give it a second try and update their reviews because this is a small mom & pop shop, the ladies were hustling and bustling to keep all tables attended and the food was expertly prepared. Don't drive out of your way, but if you are in the area definitely give it a try. Overall, excellent value for a fantastic meal for a small family owned strip mall place. Food 4 stars Ambiance 4 stars (for a small strip mall restaurant) Service 4 stars

I ordered the chimichanga and it was delicious!! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the service was great. It's not the easiest place to find add it's tucked in the corner of a publix super market plaza but if you're in coral springs and you like Mexican food I highly recommend this place.

Went there Saturday night before Mothers day. At first the service was ok. However after the adult entrees came we had to ask for children's meals. Then not one check in the entire meal. My husband was so upset he walked out. They never checked to see if he or anyone needed a drink then when we asked for the check we had a mountain of dirty dishes sitting. They asked us if we wanted dessert when we wanted the check. Food was OK no queso or bean dip.. strange for Mexican food. The food was OK not great next time I'll take the drive to Azteca in Davie... they should take a road trip for some pointers.

Have to say I love a good small place to eat! Owners are friendly and staff is quick and efficient! Meals are served fresh and chip with salsa are free! Great for families and couples alike. Kids menu along with all your favorites. Things seem to flow very well. DON'T miss the chicken and rice soup! Always good to take home.

Terribly rude service and the hair (in your food) is free. I hope you don't speak Spanish because these people have potty mouths that run like a tourist with Montezuma's revenge. I was truly surprised at how bad things can get when the boss leaves for the day. The workers here were rude, lazy, and completely disconnected from their customers. Truly epic bad. I came to El Paso at about 9:00pm on a Wednesday night to get my Mexican fix on. Being close to home, I figured I'd give El Paso a try. I found the restaurant to be decorated like a typical '70s Mexican hole in the wall with thick red plastic table clothes and typical Mexican decor. I should have known there was trouble when our server took our drink order, then forgot it and left us for dead for awhile. After talking to another server, I re-placed our drink order and placed our food order. We were given some festive but unappetizing multi-colored tortilla chips and some salsa. I should mention that it was quickly dropped off without a word or eye contact from our server. It was like we weren't even there. My son and I ordered the steak Fajitas and waited patiently for our meal. Arriving quickly the food was put in front of us with the server having a conversation with another group of patrons (at another table) while serving us, not even looking at where she was putting things or even making any kind of eye contact or attempt at providing anything resembling good service. Again, like we weren't even there. As soon as I started to fill my tortilla with steak, I noticed something that really grossed my out. A long hair in my food. Gross. I took a picture for you Yelpers and asked my son if I could share his food so I didn't have to eat the hairy stuff. No sign of our server so no one to complain to. Even though I couldn't see our server, I could hear her and the other workers loudly talking trash about patrons (calling us fat pigs), their bosses (I won't repeat what was said about them) and basically every nasty word my limited Spanish afforded me to understand. Our server (a heavy set 40 year old Mexican woman) had a loud, rude mouth that I found very offensive. The cook came out (I think) and sat behind us continuing his loud and rude conversation with the waitress in the back as if we weren't even there. Finally I had enough and said loudly "La Quenta Por Favor". Or "check please" in Spanish. I had to say it twice to be heard over the loud, rude laughing and yelling of the staff. After leaving a small tip (I paid in cash because I didn't want to wait for them). I let' me have it. I told them that I knew the owners weren't here because no owner would have the stupidity to treat customers so badly. I told my waitress that she should pick another profession because she sucked at this one. I then explained that I spoke Spanish and I heard every word they said. They looked at me in shock as if white people don't speak Spanish. I made my speech and left letting them know that I would be calling the business owner the next day and letting them know what's going on. I feel bad for the owners because (as a small business owner) I know how it is. You can't leave some employees alone for a minute because it only takes one idiot to ruin your reputation. Sorry owners but these idiots succeeded. None the less I'll give El Paso 1 Star for hairy food and the rudest service I have seen in many years (because I can't give it a 0). Truly unbelievable. My advice to the owners... fire the night crew, they are ruining your business.

It is a local Mexican restaurant with good food! The service is excellent, the staff very friendly and the establishment is clean. It is rather small but it seems every time I go I never had a bad meal and the food comes out quick and very hot. (On the weekends they have small tables outside for dinner.) Remember they only serve beer and wine. They have a great "spicy" salsa that brings on the "heat" to your palette and goes great with your food. Their "Carnitas" are excellent (I get my pork "crispy") or the "Jalisco Combo" is a meal that will fill you up with 1 chicken enchilada, 1 chili relleno and 1 beef taco served with yellow rice and refried beans. So if you are at the corner of Riverside Road and Wiles Road why not give it a try. Also, they have a very reasonable priced lunch specials for everyone to enjoy. Cheers!

I spend a fair bit of time in Mexico, and can say I know my Mexican cuisine. This small intimate restaurant has some of the best I've ever had. I ordered the carnitas, and I would have sworn I was in Jalisco. The ambiance is intimate and friendly, not sophisticated, and the service is excellent. This will be a stop of mine every time I'm nearby.

Food quality was acceptable. Service was some of the worst I have experienced in south Florida. Very disorganized. The last tables seated were the first to get their food. No hostess or sign in sheet so the waiting customers got into an argument as to who got there first and who should be seated first. Asked for more chips and salsa - we were ignored. Had to ask for drink refills. We waited at least 30 minutes for the check. What Mexican place does not have margaritas? El Paso does not. You would be better off at Taco Bell.

Went here for dinner on New Years Eve. I was very impressed! This is a small local Mexican restaurant and I thought the food was excellent! The service was great! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the shrimp in creole sauce! Yummy!!!!! Will definitely go back!

This was my second visit, I ordered the Texas enchiladas this time. I should have known better but I was hoping that they used farmers cheese. Well, as you would expect it was very greasy, salty cheddar. Nice try, but I'm expecting more from an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I can't give anymore than three stars because of the service. Again, huge language barrier. I tried to ask a few questions about entrees on the menu and I got the "deer in headlight" look when speaking English, not good. There are lots of regulars packed into this place and most of them looked like hearty eaters, that says a lot for a place... There's a 4pm-6pm early bird special that's posted outside, keep an eye out for that if you're looking for a cheap meal. Overall, great food if you stick to the usual "authentic" Mexican dishes.

Have eaten here for a few years. Food is good, inexpensive and served quickly. My favorite overalll Mexican / Spanish restaurant in the Coral Springs area. People are friendly. Small restaurant but usually able to get a table. Early bird is a good deal.

This family owned restaurant has the best Mexican Food in Coral Springs. The service is fast and the food is always fresh and tasty. The menu has a wide variety of mexican dishes and the prices are reasonable. If you order take-out which I have done several times, you can get a big bag of chips and salsa ( free upon request). They have great inexpensive lunch specials too.

We dropped in for lunch at the El Paso Restaurant on the recommendation of a family member while we were in Coral Springs visiting from Tennessee. The specials at lunch include soup, a soft drink, chips and salsas. Service was fast and friendly, the restaurant very clean and pleasant inside, and the food phenomenal. That first visit last week I ordered from the regular menu, the chicken flautas were generously stuffed with what tasted like rotisserie chicken breast meat, not the shredded stew meat that many restaurants use. A real surprise was the sauce the flautas were topped with, that was more of a chicken gravy like mom would pour over your mashed potatoes on a Sunday dinner with the family. Excellent! My husband and I returned two more times while we were in the area. A lunch special of the Baby Tampiqueña which I requested be grilled rare was very delicately done, not over-cooked. And our last lunch at the end of the week was a repeat of the chicken flautas with their haunting chicken gravy. Don't even ask me what my husband ordered on these three visits...I was too busy enjoying the platters that were placed in front of me!

small mexican restaurant in supermarket shopping center. was taken there by my daughter and was told the food was good. when i first got there i didn't think much of it... maybe i'm just used to the bigger restaurant chains. sat down and breezing through the menu, i decided on the steak fajitas with corn tortillas. i must say honestly those were probably the most delicious fajitas i had in a while. the waitresses were patient with me and extremely nice. the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely stop by more often for lunch when i'm in the mood for real mexican food. it reminds me why the smaller mom and pop restaurants are usually great choices when you want a good meal with good service. highly recommend...

Flawless meal. Unbelievably fast and friendly service. Fresh and tasty food. Carne asada tampiqueña (skirt steak) was delicious and chile relleno was perfect. Chips with salsa were freshly made. Desserts are made in-house.

Went here last night with some friends. Small place, and one step up from hole in wall which is fine by me. Chips and Salsa came out. Chips were fine, and the hottest salsa wasn't hot...we even asked for hotter salsa and they made it a drop hotter, but probably more smokier than anything. And no hot sauce bottles around. I had the shrimp and fish fajitas..13.95. Reasonable enough and was very good. Came with 4 flour tortillas, but i found the accompanying lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese to be very skimpy. Looking at the menu to order more of these would be $4. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria for the table, it was decent. Overall I enjoyed it. Was it spectacular, no. Would I return, probably. But I may just continue my hunt and try another place until i find something awesome.

Just left El Paso, my son and I decided to try the food while my car was being washed across the street. Very bad decision, should have gone to Taco Bell. We both order the same meal, a Jalisco combination. One with chicken the other with beef. After waiting a very long time, the waitress brought out one dinner and walked away. I then asked about my meal, and the waitress stated " Oh sorry, I thought you just wanted one dinner". Why would we just want one dinner, we were very clear in ordering two dinners. Is that the stupidest reply or what. She could have stated she made a mistake, either way I told her to forget about the order, as it would have taken to long. Glad I did, the food was very greasy. I noticed other patrons having problems with the same waitress, and their orders. With all the good Mexican Restaurant's in Coral Springs, why would anyone eat at this greasy spoon. Stay far away from this place, go to Taco Bell, it's cheaper and the food is 100 times better.

After such a great meal at Gabose Korean Restaurant yesterday I thought I would try another place I heard good things about, El Paso. I was told by a very good source that the chef/owner was of the main cooks at Cielto Lindos Restaurants back in their heyday. Upon hearing that I was pretty excited to give this place a go. It's a small place that seats maybe 40 people. The comp. chips and salsa were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I had the Seafood Burrito with the yellow rice and no beans. The burrito was supposed to be a mix of lagostinos and crab. As I waited to order I was looking thru the menu and it looked like El Paso had the exact menu (little pictures, same names of the food along with the descriptions ) as Cielto Lindos. There were a few items like looked like originals, but not many. When my order arrived it looked good, but it didn't taste so good. The inside of the burrito was a mixture of lots of sour cream and some crab, but I didn't see any lagostinos. The mixture was just too mushy and salty. I honestly have to say I didn't even finish it. Hmmmmm.....maybe I got them on a bad day. Not sure if I will go back, I will have to see. Can't recommend this one so Stay Hungry!

My family and I are regulars here at El Paso, and know the owners well enough to say hi and talk a bit when we stop for food. El paso is really a delicious, inexpensive mexican restaurant that is owned and operated by a great family. I always enjoy my time here, and usually order the burrito, chimichanga, or mexican pizza, which are all delicious. The hard shell tacos are also amazing, I have never tasted shells so unique and delicious as these. Service is always great, as most of the time there are not alot of people in the restaurant. All in all, i really enjoy this place, and many others should give it a try! Its very underrated!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
